HYCU digs into the Nutanix Mine

HYCU has announced general availability of Nutanix Mine with HYCU, a product that enables Nutanix customers to back up their secondary storage using a single console.

Nutanix Mine converges the management of secondary backup data such as backup, archiving and disaster recovery with ordinary data management operations. Users can now operate the HYCU backup for secondary data using their Prism consoles. The service archives data to a Nutanix Objects store for long term retention.

The companies already has one satisfied customer, Jose Bellas, CIO of University Healthcare, who contributed this quote: “The key for us when we moved all in on Nutanix was to leverage the power of their platform, not just for primary storage but secondary as well. I’ve been using HYCU as my backup and recovery software solution as well as Nutanix as my backup target for a while now. With Nutanix Mine with HYCU, you get the best possible solution that is tightly integrated to simplify your secondary storage needs, with the benefit of streamlined management. In the end, this will make things more efficient and help tie back to our overall business objectives.”

At the time of the Nutanix Mine launch announcement in May 2019, HYCU signalled its intention to build a backup service for Nutanix Mine. Subbiah Sundaram, HYCU VP products, said at the time: “That is what Nutanix Mine with HYCU is fundamentally all about. Backup becomes an invisible service of the Nutanix platform.”

Nutanix Mine with HYCU supports multi-tenancy, which enables cloud service providers to sell it as an added service.
