Dell and Cisco renew VxBlock wedding vows

Dell Technologies and Cisco have signed a multi-year extension to their VBlock partnership.

This is the converged infrastructure combo that integrates Dell EMC storage with Cisco UCS servers and Nexus networking systems.

The set-up began in 2009 with the VCE joint venture between EMC, VMware and Cisco. The current product is the VxBlock 1000.

The extended agreement runs for an unspecified time and aligns product roadmaps and developments sales initiatives between the companies.

Cisco and Dell plan joint announcements later this year regarding the VxBlock 1000. Expect a gradual move to composable VxBlock systems and improved multi-cloud back-end capabilities.
