Vexata execs depart for greener shores

Struggling Vexata has lost its chief marketing officer and a product and solution marketing VP.

Vexata is an extreme high-performance array startup that downsized in March 2019, At the time Rick Walsworth, VP product and solution marketing, told us the cuts reflected the company’s switch from direct sales to partner-led sales.

Walsworth quit the company last month, moving to VMware to run VMware Cloud Foundation Product Marketing.

Vexata CMO Ashish Gupta has also left, joining security firm Banyan as its marketing head. He told an audience in a Tech Field Day video recorded on June 19 that it was his third day at the company.

At time of writing, Gupta remains featured on Vexata’s leadership page as its CMO.

Founded in 2013, Vexata has raised $54m in four funding rounds, of which the most recent was a $5m top-up in 2017.
