SDXI – Smart Data Accelerator Interface – an SNIA standard for a memory-to-memory data mover and acceleration interface, pub;ishef Nov 28, 2022. The SNIA says its SDXI technical working group (TWG), formed in October 2020, is working to bring an extensible, virtualizable, forward-compatible, memory to memory data movement and acceleration interface specification. As new memory technologies get adopted and memory fabrics expand the use of tiered memory, data mover acceleration and its uses will increase. This TWG will encourage adoption and extensions to this data mover interface. But hgow SDXI relates to CXL is not clear and SDXI may be rendered obsolete by CXL.
