Revinetix upgrades its appliances
Archive and disk-to-disk backup appliance vendor Revinetix has added file-level deduplication to its product line through a software update
Version 3.0 RevOS adds Active Directory Support and a new tabbed Web 2.0-style interface to the ability to deduplicate at the file level. It means that Revinetix' small and medium-sized business customers can store more data on their network-attached Sentio rack-mount Volo desktop data protection appliances
The new release also adds more control for the administrator to specify and schedule the type of backup required – full, incremental, or only new changes made to the database. Additional management tools include a status bar showing used and free disk space, a messages area for notifications, and RAID status indicator.
RevOS centrally manages and automates backup, archive and recovery functions down to the desktop level for every machine connected to a network - including those connected through a VPN (Virtual Private Network).
The Revinetix system supports all major operating systems, SQL Server Agent for Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
