Ibrix' new president

Still no word on ousted CEO's fate

With reference to yesterday's story about the Ibrix CEO's ouster the Ibrix board has put out this statement:

"The IBRIX Board is excited to announce Milan Shetti's appointment as President of IBRIX. In his new role he will oversee all day-to-day operations at the company, while maintaining direct responsibility for Business Development. Milan, who has previously held senior management positions in SUN’s Storage division, has demonstrated strong leadership at IBRIX over the past two years. He has also been the point-person on the Company’s OEM and major customer relationships. We’re very confident in his ability to drive the Company’s growth to the next level."

We might infer that the board thought Bernard Gilbert did not demonstrate as much strong leadership as he could, and it felt that Milan Shetti was a better person to lead the company onwards. But this is just guessing.

The market for highly scalable, parallel file systems is growing and, in the shape of Panasas, IBRIX faces strong competition. There is everything to play for still though.
