NEC's better virtual server SAN disaster recovery

NEC Corporation of America has announced new versions of its ExpressCluster products to provide SAN disaster recovery for virtual servers as well as support for IPV6 and more applications.
The ExpressCluster LAN, SAN and WAN products provide local high availability and remote disaster recovery for small and medium enterprises, branch workgroups and departments of larger enterprises. They were introduced in 2005 and NEC claims a greater than 40 percent CAGR for them in North America.
The new features include:-
- ExpressClusterSAN now supports Micrpsoft's Hyper-V, the Xen Hypervisor and VMware's ESX,
- ExpressCluster WAN has better data protection with hybrid disk support,
- All ExpressCluster products now support:-
------ iSCSI storage systems,
------ Windows Server 2008,
------ SQL Server 2008,
------ Exchange 2007,
------ The extended IPV6 Internet addressing scheme,
------ The IPMI server power control function.
They also have an improved management console.
ExpressCluster products can run on both Windows and Linux servers and in physical servers, virtual servers or mixed physical and virtual servers in an X86 environment.
The new ExpressCluster SAN for hypervisor products will be priced starting at $1,995.00 per physical hypervisor host server and the new ExpressCluster products and releases will be generally available starting in July 2008.
