A stream line ten thousand long

Customers have now bought more than 10,000 Sun StorageTek StreamLine SL500 tape libraries.
The SL500 has racked up 10,000 plus sales since its 2004 launch. Sun has aso started shipping its new SL3000 mid-range modular library and claims it offers double the density of similar products.
Joe Fannin, CEO of Sun reseller partner NET Source, said, "The Sun StorageTek SL500 ... has been one of the most popular products in our storage portfolio, Its industry leading design, scalability and reliability make it a superior offering in the SMB space."
The SL3000 has non-disruptive scalability of up to 3,000 slots and, Sun says, has up to 10x power savings over comparable libraries. It is based on the SL8500 modular library and its CenterLine technology improves time-to-data speed by up to 50%.
