Mimosa gets funding round

On way to possible 2010 IPO

It is reported that e-mail and latterly file archiving supplier Mimosa has gained $17 million in a funding round. It will use the money to expand its sales and service staff around the world.

The company will add another 45 people to its current roster of 185 people. They will be recruited for positions in sales, sales support and service in China, Australia and Japan, the UK and Germany.

The company is also aiming to make its NearPoint product APIs available to developers, particularly in the booming eDiscovery area. Further archive content targets will be announced later on in the year and there is spculation that Microsoft SharePoint content and Blackberry content could be brought into the NearPoint archive.

Total funding is now $51.5 million. The company is thinking about a possible IPO in 2010.
