The HDS web site lists Mary Ann Gallo as its Director for Global PR. It's not true. She now works for VMware as Director, Products and Solutions, Public Relations. Strange though; she's not listed on VMware's media contacts web site. This is carrying virtualisation too far.

Mary Ann's LinkedIn entry lists her VMware position.

When did she leave Hitachi? A March 4 HDS release has her as the appropriate contact. A March 24 release mentions Laurie Spindler instead, who looks after Investor Relations PR for HDS - but it isn't an investor relations release. So that indicates a March departure from HDS.

A 28 April VMware release lists her as a PR contact so the deed was done by then.

HDS has lost a few quite senior people recently, including CEO David Roberson who went to HP. Minoru Kosuge is the new CEO.
