SATA II and 120MB/sec write speed

Mtron has announced the fastest flash solid state disk drives (SSD) in the market; its PRO 7500 series.

They support the 3Gbit/s SATA II interface and read data at 130MB/sec and write it at 120MB/sec. This is 10 - 20 percent faster than Mtron's SATA I SSD.

The PRO 7500 has a random read rating of 19,000 IOPS which Mtron says is 65 times faster than a SAS hard disk drive, and uses 60 percent less electricity. It is a single level cell (SLC) design.

The new SSDs will come in both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch formats with capacities from 16GB, 32GB and 64GB in the 2.5-inch form factor, and 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB in the 3.5-inch range.

The drives have dynamic and static wear leveling and the write endurance is 140 years at 50GB/day. They have a 5-year warranty, a 1 million hours MTBF rating, and will be available in June.
