Neverfail Signs Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as New Customer

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - April 28, 2008) - Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company, one of the leading educational publishers in the United States, has selected Neverfail to keep its sales force connected to potential customers.
Neverfail, a leading global software company providing affordable continuous availability and disaster recovery solutions, was selected to prevent server downtime and provide company executives with uninterrupted access to business-critical communications.
The need to ensure the accessibility of both BlackBerry® communications and IBM® Lotus® Notes prompted Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to initiate the search for a continuous availability solution. After an evaluation of possible solutions, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt selected Neverfail for its server environments to ensure the availability of business-critical information to its sales force and upper management. Neverfail's ability to deliver continuous availability maximizes potential sales opportunities and increases efficiency in the decision-making process.
"Prior to Neverfail, we had no way of switching over our BlackBerry servers, and consequently, risked interruptions in service at all hours of the night," said Chip Brady, corporate IT manager of messaging technologies, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. "Now, with Neverfail in place, I know that any issues with our BlackBerry servers will be handled successfully and without any service interruption, which is critical not only to our business and to our employees' ability to communicate, but also to my peace of mind."
Neverfail solutions support 4,500 Houghton Mifflin Harcourt employees using BlackBerry smartphones and email on IBM Lotus Domino. Neverfail was put to work almost immediately after implementation. In November, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt experienced a system malfunction on its Domino server. In response, Neverfail initiated a switchover to the secondary environment. During this unplanned downtime, all services, including BlackBerry, remained completely accessible and uninterrupted.
"Neverfail technology provides Houghton Mifflin with assurance that server downtime will not have a negative impact on business operations," said Dave French, Neverfail Americas CEO. "We provide peace of mind by ensuring Houghton Mifflin's business-critical information is always available."
