EVAULT DEMONSTRATES INFOSTAGE BACKUP SOFTWARE FOR FULLY-INTEGRATED BACKUP AND RECOVERY SOLUTIONS FOR THE HEALTHCARE SECTOR
posted on 20 April 2008 09:57
EVault, Inc., a Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX) company, will be attending the Healthcare Computing Show taking place in Harrogate April 21-23rd and demonstrating its InfoStage 6 backup software solution.
Delivering the healthcare sector's only fully integrated data protection platform for both physical and virtual environments available in Software as a Service (SaaS), licensed software or managed services delivery options.
Driven by the need to store massive digital files and increasing compliance for patient records, healthcare is becoming a booming market for storage. PACSs (picture archiving and communications systems) store cardiology and radiology tests, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results, and other large files.
Extending already advanced technology that more than 20,000 customers worldwide rely on, the EVault ‘s Infostage is built to scale; simplifies data protection for complex IT environments and decreases the possibility of downtime for healthcare providers in the public and private sectors.
“Healthcare providers are under constant pressure to manage and protect critical data in complex environments, both in the data centre and across multiple remote locations,” said Phil Evans, Country Manager, EVault. “EVault’s Infostage with its seamless integration and delivery options strengthens EVault’s position to meet customer needs, and easily scale as customers grow.”
EVault offers several industry firsts for the market, including:
* A fully integrated, single vendor for physical and virtual environments with WAN optimisation and data reduction at the source, combined with data deduplication at the target
* Backup and recovery SaaS with “hot” backups and granular document-level recovery for Microsoft SharePoint servers
* Complete delivery options: SaaS, Software, Managed Services
EVault’s patent-pending DeltaPro™ technology already reduces data by compressing and encrypting only new and changed data at the block level to optimise performance over the WAN. EVault’s new fully-integrated data deduplication technology further enhances the benefits of DeltaPro by eliminating redundant blocks of data within backup jobs held in storage, increasing customer’s return on storage resources without compromising performance, scalability or requiring an appliance .
EVault InfoStage UltraRecovery provides seamless and optimised replication of the primary backup site to an alternate disaster recovery location. EVault InfoStage LocalRecovery enables remote offices to create a local backup vault for improved backup and recovery times at local area network speeds, while also automatically replicating data to a centralised disaster recovery site.
