Blu-ray blockbuster success starting

Movie rental company Blockbuster will put Blu-ray kiosks in all its US stores and offer Blu-ray movies for rent or sale.
The post-DVD transition is, Blockbuster hopes, under way and it wants to capitalise on it and also drive it with the only high-definition optical format in town - Blu-ray.
But consumers have to buy Blu-ray players. These are more expensive than DVD players, which can now be bought in super-markets along with the cereals and canned vegetables.
It may well be that buying a Sony PlayStation III is the cheapest way to get a Blu-ray player. It looks like Sony's fortunes could be on the uptick, recession or no recession in the USA.
