LINDY launches NAS personal server for small business and SOHO users

Stockton-on-Tees, UK (10th April 2008) – LINDY Electronics announced today its latest NAS personal server enclosure. Capable of taking either SATA or IDE 3.5” hard drives, this versatile server is packed full of features that makes it easy for small businesses and SOHO users to share storage.

The LINDY NAS Personal server connects to the network via a standard 10/100 RJ-45 Ethernet connection and can be used by any Mac or PC computer. It includes support for both FTP and Samba servers and is able to connect directly to a computer via USB, allowing it to be used as a standard hard disk enclosure too.

“NAS has become a really popular way for users on the same network to share storage,” comments Stephen Fawcett, Senior Product Manager of LINDY Electronics. “It also has the added advantage of enabling data to be immediately available whenever you add an extra PC or laptop to the network. This makes it ideal for small businesses and SOHO users that may employ contractors for short periods of time, but want to allow them access to company data in order to do their job.”

The LINDY NAS Personal Server comes in a stylish aluminium case complete with a vertical stand, installation screws, screwdriver, drive connection cables and a 0.5m USB cable. Thumbscrews on the case provide easy access when installing the drive and its silent operation allows the server to be placed anywhere, even on a user’s desk.

The LINDY NAS Personal Server, part no 32492 is available now from www.lindy.co.uk, price £69.99 incl VAT.
