San Diego, Calif., March 25, 2008 – Arkeia Software, the leading provider of powerful, innovative data protection software, launched a Financial Services business unit that will help financial institutions, brokerage firms, and insurance companies drive down costs while optimizing their data protection, data recovery, and compliance.

The Financial Services business unit is based in San Diego and is focused on delivering tailored data protection solutions to the financial industry. Along with its network of partners, Arkeia Software currently serves over 70 financial services customers worldwide including Discover Financial and First Union National Bank in the United States, Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, Commerzbank in Germany, and TransUnion in Canada.

Instrumental to this new business unit will be the EdgeFort all-in-one data protection appliance with integrated data backup, data security, and disaster recovery. Combining EdgeFort appliances and Arkeia Network Backup software enables financial services customers to increase the flexibility of their data infrastructure, making local data quickly available for file restores and/or system restores and optionally replicating branch data back to the data center.
