ESG says Exagrid can backup 4TB/hour

posted on 06 March 2008 18:15

Offers 20:1 de-dupe ratio

An ESG report, sponsored by backup-to-disk supplier Exagrid, says that a 6-server Exagrid system can backup at a rate of 4TB/hour with a single Exagrid server taking in 667GB/hour.

The consultancy also thinks that Exagrid can achieve a 20:1 de-dupe ratio over time with backup data.

ESG reckons that with figures like these applied to WAN bandwidth - Exagrid can replicate de-duped data across a WAN link to a second Exagrid system - Exagrid is a cost-effective alternative to tape for offsite archival.
