SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2008--BakBone Software(R) (Pink Sheets:BKBO), a leading provider of heterogeneous integrated data protection solutions, signed an agreement with China's leading software distributor, Beijing Hope Co., Ltd.

Under the terms of the agreement, Beijing Hope will sell BakBone's NetVault(R): Backup as its exclusive data protection solution through its extensive network of 1000+ resellers in China. Beijing Hope is replacing CA's data protection solution with NetVault: Backup.

According to IDC's March 2007 Market Analysis on the worldwide data protection and recovery market, IDC expects growth in this market to come from the Asia Pacific and EMEA regions. IDC predicts that the Asia Pacific data protection and recovery market is projected to grow by a compound annual growth rate of 12.4 percent from 2006-2011 and reach 663 million in 2011. IDC reports that in China, two verticals representing high growth opportunities in the data protection segment are the banking and communications and media industries.
