Participation in Global Launch Demonstrates Commitment to Deliver Market-Ready Storage Networking Solutions for Latest Microsoft Server Platform

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., February 27, 2008 – QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), a leader in networking for storage and high performance computing (HPC), today announced availability of its Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) for Microsoft Windows Server 2008, which was launched worldwide by Microsoft today.

Windows Server 2008 automates daily management tasks, tightens security and improves efficiency, while offering virtualization solutions that enable IT professionals to reduce costs, increase hardware utilization, optimize their infrastructure, and improve server availability. QLogic® Fibre Channel HBAs, optimized for virtualized environments and Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V hypervisor technology, deliver industry-leading performance in Windows Server 2008 environments.

Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V Helps Customers Make Best Use of Their Server Investments
Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V, the next-generation hypervisor-based server virtualization technology, allows customers to make the best use of their server hardware investments by consolidating multiple server roles as separate virtual machines (VMs) running on a single physical machine. With Hyper-V customers can also efficiently run multiple different operating systems—Windows, Linux, and others—in parallel, on a single server, and fully leverage the power of x64 computing.

“As a key ecosystem partner, we are actively collaborating with Microsoft to ensure that our HBAs seamlessly integrate with key features of Windows Server 2008, such as Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V-based server virtualization and virtual machine management,” said Amit Vashi, vice president of marketing, QLogic Host Solutions Group. “QLogic Fibre Channel solutions are integrated with hardware-assisted virtualization technologies in the Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisor platform to extend fabric security and flexibility in virtual environments.”

“Microsoft is pleased to be working with QLogic to expand offerings for Windows Server 2008 customers,” said Ward Ralston, group technical product manager for windows server marketing at Microsoft Corp. “Our industry partners play an essential role in ensuring that our customers have the best technology foundation available and QLogic helps deliver valuable new functionality to our joint customers.”

QLogic, a Bronze Sponsor at the Microsoft “Heroes Happen Here” — 2008 Global Launch Wave event at the Los Angeles Convention Center, is showcasing its Fibre Channel capabilities with Windows Server 2008 in Booth 61.
